Set the camera securely on a tripod, ensuring the legs and any other moving parts are tight and secure.
Plug in your cable release to the remote port on your camera.
Connect your cable release to the remote port on the camera. This is usually marked with a little remote icon, however on some cameras it can be labelled as GPS (e.g. Nikon) or Multi (e.g. Sony). If you’re unsure as to where to connect your cable release, refer to your camera’s user manual. If you’re using Triggertrap Mobile, this is where you connect your Triggertrap connection cable.
Connect your remote cable to your mobile dongle.
If you’re using Triggertrap Mobile, the next step is to connect your connection cable to your Mobile Dongle. Simply plug the 2.5mm jack into the 2.5mm socket on the Dongle.
Connect the Dongle to your smart phone.
Plug the 3.5mm cable from the Triggertrap Mobile Dongle into your smartphone’s headphone socket.
Open the Triggertrap Mobile app and select Simple Cable Release
Open the Triggertrap Mobile app and select Simple Cable Release from the menu.
Turn the media volume to full
Turn the volume to full on your smartphone. If you’re using an Android device, make sure that the media volume is being turned up to full.
