Are you excited by mobile app development and can you prove your prowess in this field? Do you sing Java in the shower? If yes, and you are a graduate looking to join a creative team pushing the limits of new mobile app development then this opportunity is for you!
We’re a pretty new company, born from a wildly successful Kickstarter project in July 2011. Our flagship product is Triggertrap Mobile, a combination of hardware and mobile apps that lets you trigger your SLR from your smartphone in loads of different ways. This shot into the top five in app charts around the world, and has now been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times.
Our apps have been featured everywhere from Techcrunch to Engadget, Forbes and the Observer, with universally positive press reviews. We have a pipeline of new products coming up that are going to take even more sectors of the photography world by storm. There are no limits to this role providing you have the aptitude to learn, the skills to contribute and the desire to advance your career quickly.
About the role
This is a junior role, so aptitude, attitude and creativity are more important than experience. Working closely with the rest of the team based in Bristol City Centre you will work on development of new mobile apps, and on new features for our existing app. In return, Triggertrap offers a competitive salary, training and mentoring support to sharpen your skills, generous bonuses and share options as you progress and prove yourself. This is on top of all the usual perks, including cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers and season ticket loans.
You may be just starting out in mobile development or you might have been dabbling for a while. Either way, you’re now ready to take the next step and join a team developing some of the most exciting apps around. You should have at least one app or open source project in the wild, because if you’re excited about app development why wouldn’t you? You’ll be able to find your way around the Android developer tools and have some skill in Java. Some experience of iOS development too would be brilliant, but a willingness to learn other platforms as your skills and experience grows is just as valuable. You’ll be a self-starter, expected to manage an interesting and varied workload.
The ideal candidate would have:
- A keen interest in mobile app development
- Proficiency in Android development
- An interest in photography, although this is not essential
- Experience with git or other SCM
- An HND/degree level qualification of some sort
Most importantly the team want someone who is driven and enthusiastic with a flexible approach and who can fit into the team.
