Triggertrap Flash Adapter
Trigger a flash from your smartphone
Why do I need a Flash Adapter?
Did you know that even the fastest DSLR cameras are pretty slow by photography standards? Typical shutter lag for a DSLR camera is 50-150 milliseconds. If you’re trying to capture something very quick, that’s three quarters of an eternity!
Triggertrap Flash Adapter bypasses the camera altogether, triggering your flash directly – and with the newest version of Triggertrap Mobile for iOS, we’ve made the app 12 times faster than it was before. Now your smartphone is the perfect springboard to help you dip your toes in the droplet-filled pond of high-speed photography!
You can use the Triggertrap Flash Adapter with our Triggertrap Mobile Dongle and Triggertrap Mobile App for iOS, or with Triggertrap Ada.
What you’ll need:
To use the Triggertrap Flash Adapter, you’ll need a Triggertrap Mobile Dongle coupled with the Triggertrap Mobile App for iOS or Triggertrap Ada, or one of our retired hardware products: Triggertrap v1, or a Triggertrap Shield for Arduino.
…And a note about Android:
The Triggertrap Mobile app for Android is not yet optimised for high speed photography with the Triggertrap Flash Adapter. Although you will be able to trigger your flash, delays inherent in the Android operating system means that our Android app can’t be considered a truly high-speed device, sorry.
