Triggertrap v1

The original Triggertrap - fresh from the factory

  • Built-in laser trigger

Point a laser beam into the laser sensor, and the Triggertrap will take a photo whenever the beam is broken.

  • Built-in Sound Sensor

Use the built-in sound sensor to take a photo when you whistle, clap your hands, or any other sound. Adjustable sensitivity means the Triggertrap is perfect in nearly all situations!

  • Built-in ambient light sensor

The light sensor is incredibly sensitive and ludicrously fast. Lightning fast, in fact. Don't worry, though, it works very well for slower events too: Sunrises, someone flicking on the ceiling lights, or anything else you could think of!

  • Built-in RCA Auxiliary port

If you can think of a way to turn it into an electrical signal, you can use the Triggertrap to take your photos, by plugging your car, your fridge, your door bell, or your fencing epee straight into the Triggertrap's RCA port.

  • Built-in Timelapse functionality

Perfect for buildings building, clouds clouding, ice melting, or paint drying.

  • Open-source & Arduino-compatible

The Triggertrap v1 source code is open-source and available on Github, and the device itself is 100% compatible with the Arduino programming environment. If that means something to you, you can stop salivating now... For everybody else: if you know how to program an Arduino, you can make the Triggertrap do just about anything you can dream up.

"Triggertrap trips your camera with just about anything (...) You will only be limited by your ideas" - Wired

When is Triggertrap v2 coming?

It’s an incredible experience we’ve been through, creating a brand new product from scratch, running a Kickstarter campaign, and subsequently selling every single Triggertrap v1 we’ve made. Now that the Triggertrap v1 is completely sold out, we’ve started getting quite a few e-mails about what our plans are next, and when we’re launching a Triggertrap […]

Triggertrap Mid-January Sale!

We had a bloody great number of you ordering Triggertrap Mobile and other products in November and December. I know, I know, it sounds pretty unlikely, but it turns out that there are still one or two photographers in the world who don’t have a Triggertrap. So we decided to run a mid-January sale!

Using lightning as a flash

If you’ve ever found yourself outdoors, taking photos at night, wishing you were able to give the sky a bit of a ‘kicker’, before giggling at the ludicrousness of that idea, feast your eyes on this photo taken by ‘deuler_b’ on Flickr, posted to our Triggertrap Flickr pool. The photographer used a Triggertrap v1, set […]

Triggertrap v1 and Triggertrap Shield schematics and plans

As part of our Kickstarter campaign, we promised that the Triggertrap Shield and Triggertrap v1 would be as ‘open’ as we could make them. In practice, this meant that the source code and the schematics would be completely open source. We’re really sorry it has taken us this long to release the schematics; we meant […]
